I'm cooking Dh a special meal for our date night on saturday. Any suggestions??

We like any food but need to keep the cost down!

Would duck do or is it too expensive? I have a nice easy recipe as a main course, if you are interested.

When we've done this before the thing that's gone down best was grilled chicken in mango marinade, big salad and a roast sweet potato. Easy, quick and cheap, and goes nicely with a bottle of wine. Ooo and for pudding this is always a winner.

You know what is bloody delicious? Chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and ricotta, then wrapped in bacon. I normally do it with white wine gravy (then have the rest of the bottle with dinner) and carrots.

For pudding a few nights ago, I cut a mango in half, sprinkled it with chilli and honey and stuck it in the oven for 30 minutes. Lovely with ice cream.

Moroccan? Couscous with value/basics dried fruit & nuts; pitta bread with homemade dips (different yoghurt-based ones - add different spices, goats cheese etc.); Moroccan Chicken with spicy yoghurt (I made this for DP on our anniversary and it was YUM); roast butternut squash with ME spices; homemade falafel (quite cheap as you can freeze leftovers - google a baked falafel recipe = much healthier).

CharminglyOdd the moroccan chicken sounds gorgeous! My mouths watering just reading it!
