For one person, but with no beans / lentils / rice.

I know, asking a lot as those are quite cheap! But I just can't eat them. I'll eat almost anything else, except olives and mushrooms Grin

Can you say a bit more about what stuff you like to eat?

Lidls do 1kg of chicken drumsticks for £1.99, so that would be about 6 main meals for about 30p each plus some for rice or potatoes and veg to go with it. You could do one lot marinated in spices, one in honey and ginger, one with garlic and dried herbs etc. If you just buy a pot of medium curry powder and one of dried mixed herbs, that will stop them all tasting too bland.

Cook a spag bol style sauce of mince meat with fried onions, peppers, tinned tomatoes and herbs. Divide it into 5 portions. One is for spaghetti, one goes in a baked potato with chilli spices, one topped with mash as a cottage pie, one in a tortilla wrap with salad etc.

Try frozen white fish (much cheaper than fresh) to make fish pie or kedgeree.

Spanish style tortilla - fried potato, onions and peas cooked into a chunky omelette, served with bread and salad.

None of these meals cost more than about £1. Most cost much less.

Buy veg frozen so you don't waste any.
