Got some Le Creuset mini-cocottes for Christmas! Now what?

Hi,

I've been looking with envy at the gorgeous Le Creuset mini casserole dishes for ages, and my lovely DH got me a set for Christmas. After having admired their cuteness and pretty colours, I've now realised that I have no idea what to use them for!

I'll probably end up buying the Le Creuset recipe book, but I worry it might have too many sweet recipes (we tend to prefer savoury) and be quite fancy and fiddly. And I'm also impatient and would like to give them a go soon!

So does anyone else have these and have any brilliant ideas of what to do with them?

well, presumably little versions of whatever you'd normally cook in a big one?

individual pies? cottage pie? tiny stew? um.. souffle? toad in the hole?

I guess that makes sense, but I can already see DH looking rather disappointed at little tiny pies when he compares them to the much larger ones I usually make! Might help with our usual New Year resolutions to eat a little less though Wink

I've never made souffles, but I like the idea of individual ones. From what I understand they're quite temperamental, so will be interesting...

this is a great book for some ideas, found this in the library and now just one some pots to go with it, does everything from starter to puds.
