Urgent cake making advice - rotten egg?

Am making a banana cake. Have just put the eggs in. Mixture now smells funny but tastes fine. Have I used rotten eggs? Should I bin it? Or would I know if the eggs were rotten? (Have had my first one recently and it was watery, black and unmistakeable - this isn't, just weird smell). Eggs are BB 13th Jan. Have used last of sugar and butter in house and will be utterly fucked off if I have to bin mixture.

If it smells funny I wouldn't use it - sorry!

How ripe were the bananas? When they get very ripe that hit of ethylene gas that comes off them can be almost alcoholic-smelling

Bananas aren't in yet - so far is just sugar, butter and eggs. Going to sniff it again ... Hmm, don't even know how to describe the smell. It looks like it has a few bits of dried yolk floating in it Confused and one egg was a bit blood-clotty, so maybe could be that? Or used half butter/half fake butter spread type stuff which we got for DD's bday party in September (I realise I am making myself out to be an alarmingly gungho baker here) so maybe is that?

Doesn't smell terrible, just odd. Also looks fine.

If the eggs were off, you would know the minute you cracked the shell.

If the egg is off or even just tainted it will also taint the cake with a bad smell once cooked even if the mix tastes OK now.
