low fat cheese sauce

I'm officially on the wagon now and going to healthy eat my way through Jan. I fancy a cauliflower, broc and mac bake today (veg is going limp) but want to make a low fat sauce. I have some philli light which I was thinking to whisk with skim milk or maybe get a tub of bisto cheese sauce granules which seems low fat too - or has anybody got a recipe? Thanks

I would make a white sauce with skimmed milk and add a smalll amount of that low far cheddar, then sprinkle the top with some more cheese mixed with breadcrumbs.

I think soft cheese may be a little too bland and not cheesey enough.

Tub of no fat creme fraiche warmed through with pepper and mustard, sprinkle of extra mature cheddar on top

That sounds yum. With tomatoes on top.

Either of those sounds good - never thought about tomatoes. Was also going to chuck some frozen peas in too so nearly got my 5 a day!

I love peas too!

OK so you are going to have pasta with some veggies, with 0% fat creme fraiche (mustard and pepper) warmed through it with some cheese on top and tomatoes.

If you can bake it, I would add a teaspoon on red pesto to the base of the bowl then pop everything on top. It bubbles through nicely and tastes super-yummy.

God that sounds good!

i have only got green pesto - shame cos the red would have added a nice splash of colour. Can't wait till tea -time!

Green is good too. Red it prettier!
