am looking for new kitchen scales.

there is just soooo much choice.

they need to be really small/slim but big enough to take my pyrex mixing bowl (tara 250g).

what do you have?

I have one of these from Lakeland. Am very pleased with it, and the built-in kitchen timer is handy too.

got to be the salter ones, you can put any bowl on there and then weigh, best kitchen thing i've ever brought!

would you say salter is a good brand?

Had my salter ones for years, they are great. Don't seem to make that model any more, but if you put "salter scales" into Amazon, they look a bit like the first and second ones on the list, though mine only do grams/ounces, nothing as fancy as ml

I have the more modern Salter ones and they are fab. They take the Tala bowl and the kilo of bread mix measured into it. They were only £12 from John Lewis and are one of my most used kitchen tools.

Hello,

Another vote for salter scales from me, i have some similar to this except they are more square.

Definitely used almost every day - I have weighed a huge parcel on them too so I could work out the postage cost Grin

Salter scales have a fantastic name and have been around for ages. To help you choose, this site has a handy interactive tool that allows you refine your results on features. Very handy and easy to use - www.salterkitchenscales.co.uk/kitchen-scales/

Salter digital here too. Reasonably priced (£12 on amazon?), take up no space, can use any receptacle on top, and the battery lasts for ages. On my second set only because I dropped my last set (which were 15 years old) on a stone floor from a great height and they never really recovered.

I have Salter and they are amazing. I would thoroughly recommend them and I do lots of baking.

argos have several salter scales to choose from.

I bought a Salter digital scale from Tesco like this one. It can easily be switched from grammes to pounds and ounces and does liquid as well. Very easy to use, cheap as chips to buy and tucks away in the cupboard for storage.
