Help help, freezer's defrosted- can I cook the fish and refreeze it?

Invoking the power of Mumsnet...

We get back from my parents', having undergone the Journey From Hell, to find that, not only does the whole house stink of cat piss, but the electricity's tripped (I know not why), so the freezer's defrosted. Within the last day I think, as things are still half frozen.

I've got loads of stewed veg/ apples etc.;- I'm just hoping they'll freeze again without harbouring food poisoning. But I've also got quite a lot of salmon....Do you think I could make it into a fish pie or something, cook it, and then refreeze it? Would that be OK?

Yes so long as it hasn't been sat un-defrosted for a week or something

Thank you. Off to make the fish pie now. (The cat piss smell has faded too, or maybe my nose has just got used to it again!).
