Merry Christmas everyone,
We're going to a new years party at my bil's and I asked what food they'd like me to take (I assumed it was everyone take a plate) but they've said it's a drinks n nibbles do so take some nibbles.
What would you take? I think of nibbles as crisps and nuts, I'm imagining us all turning up and there being 50 different varieties of crisps laid out!

i would say nibbles in that context would be finger food type stuff....

how about the old faithful tub of philidelphia spread into a bowl covered in sweet chilli sauce. use it as a dip for some of those posh crisps!!

Blinis with smoked trout, slivers of beetroot and horseradish mixed with creme fraiche.

chocolate dipped strawberries to balance out the savoury stuff?

Ahh fab, so you would think finger food classes as nibbles. I'm pleased about that, I like taking some nice food along to a do, taking a bag of crisps wouldn't have felt right!

Crudités; houmous; breadsticks; plates of cooked meats; tapas type stuff

Methe · 29/12/2011 23:42

Some puff pastry things with that ever you fancy. We made goats cheese, spinache and pine nuts puffs on Christmas even and they were devoured!

Great I'll look at Nigella's stars now, and those puff's sound yummy. Crudites and dips also a good idea. I'm thinking of things that don't need plates so they would all be fab.
