How long does a homemade chocolate cake keep for?

If I bake a Nigella chocolate honey cake today and ice it tomorrow, will it be ok for boxing day? I don't know how long it will stay edible for. Also, I wouldn't be able to keep it in the fridge (couldn't fit a pea in there at the moment!) but could leave it in a cool room. Thank you!

Should be fine. Just keep it in an airtight container somewhere cool (no need for fridge, that dries it out anyway).

Brilliant, thank you. I have a cake carrier thing so will put it in that. Didn't know that about fridges drying cakes out...you really do learn something new every day!

Well, it's just in my own experience! But Tupperware thingy should keep it lovely, then the icing is an extra layer of protection.

Happy Christmas!

And to you!

DD : Sorry about that all, Darling Mother's a bit crazy in her old age, keeps for 15minutes if she's not on here, and forever with me Grin

About 15 mins in this house Grin

In a sealed container about 3-4 days but NOT in the fridge.
