Evaporated milk

I meant to buy Condensed milk and accidentally bought Evaporated Milk. What on earth can I do with it?

Serve it with apple crumble . Mmmmmmmm

Is it like cream? I've never had it - to my knowledge.

Make a jelly and then when it's nearly set whisk the evaporated milk in. Really whisk it so you get lots of bubbles then put it back in the fridge to set. It's lovely!

Not really like cream, it tases sweeter and is sort of a beige colour. I really like it, and somehow it works extremely well with crumble just poured over cold.

It is just basically milk with some of the water removed.

My mum used to make it for me years ago and called is "mousse". She'd do raspberry, but it's particularly good with a lime jelly. I've also had a more adult version of it using raspberry jelly and stirring through some cooked rhubarb. Delicious.

You can make a chocolate fudge filling/frosting for a cake. Delia recipe. The cake in that link is quite nice too. You can also use it as a warm sauce to pour over icecream

My gran puts in in her coffee instead of milk/cream, is quite nice
