Evening Ladies,

Can anyone help me? I'm in desperate need of a fondant icing recipe! I have the liquid glucose but have no freaking idea what to do with it or what to add to it!

Google hasn't been much help :0(

Here's hoping xx

Have you tried typing ' how to make fondant icing' into google? There are loads of links! Basically you need an egg white, 450g icing sugar,50g liquid glucose and any flavouring or colouring you want.

Sift the icing sugar, make a well in the centre, add the glucose, egg white and flavouring. Beat it into a stiff paste. Lightly dust a chopping board with icing sugar and roll out.

Simples!

Thank you. I did type that in but I didn't find anything remotely helpful, mostly American sites using cups Xmas Confused

Merry Christmas xx

Try www.lindyscakes.co.uk/Blog/2009/04/18/how-do-i-make-sugarpaste/ there is a recipe there.. I must admit that I haven't had much luck making it, I always by shop bought.(and I make a lot of cakes!!) I will have a look through my books and see if I can find a better recipe.
You can always use your glucose to make modelling chocolate, which is amazing stuff!

Just an update, thank you Witch, that recipe worked a treat. Four cakes iced & decorated.
Merry Christmas xx
