Help, I bought a biscuit press as I thought I could make some butter biscuits to package nicely for little thank you's for people. Ive just started with a basic butter biscuit recipe and added a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg but it wont come out.

I tried making the mixture a bit runnier but it pushes out the top but doesnt fall onto the tray ??

Anyone help, ive got my mixture chilling in anticipation

scrubs idea of doing lots of home made things as gifts for 2012

I had the same problem, I think the issue is with the press, not you.

I am quite good at baking (I like to think so anyway :o) and have never had problems turning out a batch of biscuits until I tried using the blasted biscuit press.

Not one to be defeated, I tried 4 or 5 different recipes without success. I concluded that the problem was with the press, and that the design is flawed.

And grudgingly brought the biscuit cutters back out.

I am still very, very annoyed though. I tend to take it personally when things like this happen Angry

I quite agree. Tried making mixture thicker, it pushes out, thinner and the biscuits don't keep their shape. Consigned to furthest depths of pantry. On the other hand the set of 10 cutters from Lakeland, with which you make a biscuit tree, is wonderful.

Glad it's just not me but now Ive wasted £10. Im going to look at lakeland then.
