defrosting mince advice please

is it ok to defrost minced beef in the microwave dh rang and fancies shepards pie..and its in the freezer thank you

I have done with no ill effects.

I have also just cooked if from frozen - also no ill effects. Just put it in frying pan on low and as the bits soften and brown break them off with spatula. Once you cook it at a high then it should be fine.

Yes,it will be absolutely fine. Do it on defrost or low.

If you take it out of the packet and put it on a plate, mince actually defrosts on its own quite quickly anyway (with a little encouragement by bashing with a wooden spoon) (smile)

Yum good idea sheperd's pie and peas tonight me thinks.

bash it!!! sounds like a good idea to me!! can think of dh! ooh may even make some home made bread to go with it! [well packet] and how about rice pudding in oven with nutmeg ? dh will have a fit [might even wear my apron]

lol yes have managed to get the house work done this week too! there are no washing piles!! he knows where all his socks/pants/workshirts are etc i think its the herbal tabs i got form boots lol
