can I use a jar of 'White sauce for lasagne' as the White sauce in a fish pie?

Don't see why not. I just make a white sauce from the milk I've cooked the fish in, so it would taste a bit fishy, but otherwise no different :)

Have you actually tasted some of these jars of lasagne sauce? Tread very carefully ... some of them are very unpleasant indeed.

If you've already tried it and liked it, then it'll be fine.

Why don't you make your own? Much cheaper and much tastier. Delia's all-in-one method is foolproof.

This is the recipe

I use mushroom condensed soup. Dead easy & tasty.

Mushroom soup in fish pie, really? Done that for chicken pie, never for fish, hadn't realised the tastes would go together.. may try!

I do the all-in-one Delia one linked by Bunbaker

Mushroom soup or Baxters clam chowder or cullen skink (sp?)

I dip the fish pieces in flour mixed with a bit of turmeric - doesn't really matter how much as long as the flour has changed colour slightly when you stir it in - fry it off and stir in a pot of creme fraiche. Makes a delicious yellow, tasty, creamy sauce.
