DD and I made this yesterday, and I stupidly neglected to read the whole recipe before starting, so it was only at the end that I realised that I need to steam it for 8 hours before the Xmas day steaming Shock

I won't be able to do this until next weekend now....please tell me that this won't matter?

I'm just trying to shuffle through the list of raw ingredients in my mind and, even though I don't think anything would turn to the point that it would actually kill anyone, I wouldn't be too happy leaving an uncooked pudding mix for a whole week. The steaming doesn't need that much attention. The main risk is that the water boils dry. Do you have a friend, partner, willing neighbour, bribable child etc. that could look in the steamer every hour to check? Do the thing in shifts?

Thanks Cogito; am going to enlist help for the steaming today Smile
