Sticky Onion Marmalade

I'm just finishing up my first ever batch. My jars are lined up, wax liners and lids at the ready.

Do I wait for it to cool before using the wax and lidding it?

I've never made that but for chutney you must put the hot chutney into warm jars and lid on straightaway and leave to cool.
