How many eggs do you get through in a month?

I'm trying to do big supermarket shop once a month other than milk and fruit and veg. Is mainly working but I can't get over how quickly we get through eggs. Admittedly I make a cake or biscuits about once a week and dd had omelette or scrambled egg a few times a week but I think we get through a dozen a week.

3 of us, we get through a dozen a week too

We have phases, usually half a dozen a week but DD has discovered that she likes scrambled so we are using more lately. I have been getting the larger packs of mixed weight FR as they work out cheaper.

We can bget through between 15 and 30 eggs a week depending on whether we have omelettes one night. We are a family of 7 so omelette night can use rather a lot. Xmas Blush

Family of 2 and we usually get through about a dozen a week. We both like eggs for breakfast and egg fried rice is one of our favourite cheapo supper dishes!

There are 6 of us and we get through at least one box of 18 per week and sometimes 2.

I bake and we all eat omelette, quiche, dippy egg etc.

Yeah same here about a doz. a week for family of 2 . I just want to say something about eggs that shocked me when i heard it from a food hygienist in fr.; do you remember the salmonella thing? Well it only applied to the eggSHELL yes. not the inside so if you wash your eggs before using there's no problem !!!

Anywhere between 1 and 50, probably 6/week on average (6 person family).

Four of us, and easily a dozen a week. Egg sandwiches, baking and some omlettes/egg fried rice mainly!

SnapesOnAPlane · 04/12/2011 10:54

Four of us, a dozen every two weeks at the most.

mousysantamouse · 04/12/2011 10:54

about 6 a week. 4 of us but dh is intolerant.
dc like scrambled eggs or pancakes which is where most eggs end up.

We've got chickens so we use what they lay. Roughly four/ five a day for a family of 5. We keep quail as well so that adds to our egg supply. We're, like everyone else, on a budget I have to monitor carefully and I find eggs a really cheap alternative to meat.
