My dp's ds's birthday is on boxing day. He will be 12yo. He has asked if he can have a birthday party at our house. Last year we did a buffet tea for him and his relatives on dp's side after they had been to the rugby match (so about 6.30pm)

This year though he is coming to us for his "party" before the rugby match.

There will be approx 10 adults and 2 kids (including the birthday boy) for a buffet type meal but they will need to leave the house at about 12.45pm to go to the rugby match which means that we will need to start serving at about 11.30am.

What can I serve them? I suppose I can do some of the usual stuff but as it will be early I wondered if any great mners can come up with something that is suitable to be eating that early especially the day after christmas!

Why don't you do brunch? Serve pastries, cold meats, cheese etc. you could do one big batch of scrambled eggs. Serve smoked salmon and bacon?

Excellent idea Bling! I was so caught up with it being a birthday tea that I just couldn't see it working at 11.30am! Didn't think of brunch!! Xmas Blush

Thank you - you've set a plan in motion now in my head! Xmas Grin
