Don't think I ask too much.

Hubby still thinks I will use it a while then it will lie in the cupboard

Maybe he is right but let me play 1st please

Think he is coming round to the idea though, he really like banana loaf and I say we could make them with the new machine we get hint, hint

A friend of mine said she got a bargain just before xmas from argos on hers, was £70 she got it for £35

I asked what make she said "silver, stainless steel thing"

Ahh well at least she has one

They are so cheap no, you can get a reasonable one for under £50. Just buy one !

bread made by hand is really delicious, though a bit more work.

We had an El Cheapo one years ago, the inlaws saw it and ended up buying a Rolls Royce one (ie the Panasonic). They haven't bought bread since!

Our El Cheapo has long since gone to the great Trash Dump in the sky, but we came home from the ILs last week with the Rolls Royce, as they've bought a (ooo, what's even more flashy than a Roller?) newer one.

It's at least 6 years old, but works perfectly. So far I've made brown, wholemeal and peanut-butter loaves.

So I'd say, don't go for a cheapy one, spend the dosh (it is sale-time right now after all) and if you get bored with it...Ebay! Cos the good ones hold their value, I think.

agree totally, you pay for what you get.

We get incentives at work which can be cashed in for voucher e.g argos

Can take 28 days for us to get them though

Think I will use this tactic to get my breadmaker although we were using the vouchers on the bathroom

Oh decisions

we got the russel hobbs silver stainless steel one for christmas and I think this was on special offer at littlewoods direct - I know it was cheapish as it was an extra from my parents.... Started using it this week and so far it is great. Have done a few loaves and then last nigth we did pizza dough and home made pizza (but think I need to do two smaller ones than a big one as it rose a bit much ). Set it this morning so it would come on and we would have freshly baked bread. The house smells great although could have done without it beeping 10 times at 6 am to tell me I could add raisins if I wanted to (I didn't !).

Definitely recommend it so far...
