Am thinking of making these for kids teachers, tied up in a nice cellophane bag with a miniature of baileys. Anyone recommend a good recipe?

I think this is a James Martin recipe but I can't remember. It works really well and the results are delish. I've even had Italian friends who I've given them to ask me where I bought them from they are so good!

500g strong flour
300g sugar
250g whole almonds
50g whole hazelnuts
4 eggs (I put 3 in and then see how wet the mix is looking and then possibly only add the 4th egg yolk rather than the whole egg)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
zest of lemon
zest of orange

Mix, shape into 2 long logs, put onto ligthly greased tray, cook at 180 for 30 mins. Take out, lower oven to 150, slice logs and put pieces cut side down on tray, cook for 15 mins, then turn slices over and cook for 15 mins more.
You can adapt in all kinds of ways like dipping one end in melted chocolate, changing the almonds and hazelnuts for other nuts, replacing some flour with cocoa powder etc.
