Make me feel better. We did have peas, broad beans and broccoli. Now apparently she doesn't like broccoli any more. Would also tolerate tomato sauces on pasta etc but seems to have gone off them also.

Carrots, cauliflower, seems to have recently gone off broccoli, LOVES sweetcorn.

Raw peppers and cucumber go down well but only the red and yellow peppers.

DD1 is 3.4 and will eat brocolli, peas, cherry tomatoes, corn on the cob, and tomato-based sauces without any fuss. Courgettes, aubergines, peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms will be tolerated if chopped up small and added to pasta sauce or stir-fried with noodles. Ditto sweet potato and butternut squash in mild curries.

She used to love spinach on pasta but has gone right off it (I blame other people for going on about how kids aren't meant to like spinach!).

We have had many ups and downs though, some days she'll eat veg that other days are completely rejected. I just ignore it and keep on offering a variety of stuff.

DD2 is 9 months and will hoover up any bits of vegetable that she can get her mits on. Of course I know as soon as she hits 18 months she'll become a fussy wee so and so, but for now it's really easy to feed her!

From weaning to aged 1 both would eat anything.

Now 3.9yrs & 2yrs will eat (when they feels like it not every portion at every meal) sweetcorn, peas, broccoli, carrots (cooked or uncooked) , tomatoes, olives, cucumber, swede.

Don't forget that a small tin of spaghetti in tomatoe sauce is 1 of their 5 a day, same for baked beans.

Mine will eat pretty much any fruit so I make sure they have berries every day, banana, fruity yoghurt, fruit juice, yoghurt coated raisins, apples, plums, pineapple etc. I think as long as they eat a good variety of fruit they will get their vitamins & minerals that way.

I explain to DS1 that blueberries are a Super Fruit (although I think it's Super Food?) and they will give him super powers, ha ha, he is really into super heroes at the moment. Same with carrots, I say they will give him super eyesight.

Im in awe of so many of your kids eating a variety. I love veg and i wish dd would eat more of it. Sometimes i can get her to eat root mash if i tell her its cheesy mash. I tell her that her favoyrite characters like fifi has sent her some carrots to try. She'll try them, spit them out and shout thank you fifi but i didnt like it. I never make a fuss or offer alternatives just praise for trying but its disheartening. My brother only ever ate raw carrot and now he's a chef so i suppose there's hope but i dream of dd eating a tomato even to suck the seeds out!

DD is 2.8ish.

Her favourite veg are: broccoli, beans, peas, baked beans, sweetcorn and the mini corn things, carrots, parsnips...
salad wise: pepper, cucumber, tomato

TBH, she can/would probably eat far more than that but things like squash and interesting salad are out of our budget to eat regularly and she tends to need to be offered foods a couple of times before she will tuck in with gusto.

She is obsessed with fruit also. Will eat anything you can find.

OP, she went through a phase recently of refusing ALL veg - salad was okay (but most of them aren't veg anyway!), but even firm favourites like peas were refused. I just kept putting them on her plate and eventually she started eating them again. It was very annoying, and I'm sure she'll do it several more times before she's an adult!

DD's always eaten everything, but disliked parsnips when small and they're now her favourite. Was a bit picky about fruit but eats pretty much whatever's there apart from banana's.

The nearly 4yr old girl I mind loves fruit but is fussy with cooked veg. She helps me make a mean greek salad that she tucks into (avoiding the raw onion).

The nearly 2 yr old boy I mind is a total fruitbat and will eat tons and tons of whatever I have in. Loves crudites but I've not tried him with cooked veg yet as he has a packed lunch.

DS is 21 months and eats raw carrots, sweetcorn, potatoes, pepper (raw or grilled), lettuce (but only in sandwich Hmm ), peas, courgettes, squashes. He doesn't really like tomato sauce or cooked carrots.

But he loves fruits (apples, blueberries, raspberries, tsasuma...)

latrucha · 29/11/2011 19:48

Mine will eat things raw that she won't eat cooked, eg carrots.
