I'm making the cupcakes for our playgroup Christmas party and it said fairy cakes so thought about decorating them with Christmas fairies? Is that daft? Any ideas how?

Or any other ideas re decorating Christmas fairy cakes?

:)

Edible glitter seems to be all the rage around here. Green and red icing and glitter! I think you can get little edible christmassy things for the top. But neither of my DC will eat those silver ball bearings!

What a sweet idea, i do like a good pun.
If you don't figure out fairies, what about those butterfly cupcake things, and dying the sponge pink red and the icing green? (or vice versa)

I've just been planning the ones I'm going to make for the ultra competitive school bakesale! We're doing ours as christmas puddings and presents,

christmas puddings= chocolate cake with a white circle of icing and some green and red icing holly leaves. Sprinkling of edible glitter.

Present= Vanilla cakes with the four strips of red and green icing and the bow with of course edible glitter.
