if I gave the boys bread with their chicken drumsticks?? Times run away with me - and although the chicken is nearly cooked - the potatoes aren't even pealed yet- never mind cooked - I'll cook potatoes for when DH gets home.........

impressed - mie had pitta bread and houmous and slices of ham

bread is carbs, same as potatoes. So I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference. In fact if you use wholemeal bread, probably more nutritious than spuds anyway.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 05/01/2006 19:00

oh it's homemade light wholemeal bread

im also impressed - jess had pitta bread for tea too!

Cadmum · 05/01/2006 19:07

That makes you a great mum in my books! I am sure that they would rather eat sooner than later and I agree that home-made bread is likely more nutritious option anyhow.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 05/01/2006 19:28

phew - all sorted - they've each just devoured a chicken drumstick and are now eating bread - called DH and told him I fell asleep after picking DS1 up from school (ok so I didn't really ) and was bread ok with his drumsticks - and he said yes

? are you serious? Blimey woman, just give em the bread!

Bit late now for that probably!

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 05/01/2006 20:03

I guess I've just got a 'thing' (probably got from my mum) that you've got to have your proper "meat and 2 veg + 'proper' hot starch" for dinner). Ok they didn't have veg - but they had a banana afterwards
