rescuing baked apples

They all burst in the oven! How do I make them look presentable ?

Pierce the skin with a knife before you put them in the oven.
Mmmm baked apples....

But how do I rescue them now? It's the 1st time it's happened and have people 2nite and not enough time to do something else

Scoop the flesh out, mix with the raisins etc in the bottom of the dish, then make a crumble topping and call it toffee apple crumble
