haves one for an 8inch sq:

250g (8oz) soft Margarine
250g (8oz) caster sugar
4 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
300g (10oz) self rasing flour
1 teaspoon baking powder.

cream sugar and margarine together untill light and fluffy. lighty beat the eggs with the milk in a separate bowl. mix the flour and baking powder together then gradually beat into the creamed mixture alternating with the eggs n milk mixture.

spoon the mixture into a tin lined on the base and sides with greased greaseproof or nonstick baking paper and level the surface with a palette knife.

bake in a preheated oven, 160 c (325f) gas make 3, for 45-55 minutes for a round or square cake or untill a skewer comes out cleanly.

hope this helps. TW
