What can I do with pate?

I have 3 unopened packs of pate, all of which need eating over the next week. Any ideas? Seem to remember a recipe where you stuff large mushrooms with pate and bake them in the oven (dh loathes mushrooms though...)

I think you can stuff it into chicken fillets, too?

Can't you freeze it ?

Carmenere · 04/01/2006 17:28

It's very nice on crackers with cranberry sauce

I did think about freezing it - but it's quite near the end of its shelf life so I'm a bit wary. I've never had Beef Wellington - just looked at a recipe and it sounds yummy (if expensive!) but only uses 85g of pate. Stuffing chicken breasts is a good idea.

Carmenere, just wanted to say you were right about the crackers and cranberry sauce. Dh and I demolished most of a pack last night like that
