Substitute for Fish Sauce?

Hi, does anyone know what you can use instead of fish sauce, eg in a thai curry? DH has funny reaction to fish (and he's in favour at the moment!!)

nothing really; I would be tempted to just use add some extra salt - light soy doesn't really suit most curries

(are you using a ready made curry paste? You might want to check the ingredients for shrimp paste)
