WTF do I do with ham hock???

At least that's what I think it is. Porc jambonneau in French. Looks like lower part of the leg, shin maybe? Quite small.Not smoked.

DP bought it and said we could roast it Hmm

I bought it once and boiled it and it was horrible, fatty, tasteless and hard.

Any ideas?

I didn't blanch them last time, maybe that had something to do with the vile smell and flavour.
