Freezing gravy?

I think I've screwed up. I froze chicken carcasses and today lobbed them in the slow cooker with onion herbs flour etc made a luscious stock/gravy ideal for Xmas. But it just struck me, can I freeze it if the carcasses had been frozen? Is that re-freezing meat? I haven't even got any gravy dinners this week I could use it on.

You can refreeze as its been cooked in between
No different to me freezing mince, defrost to make chilli, then refreezing in portions

The don't refreeze thing is don't take your chicken out to defrost then change your mind and refreeze as freezing doesn't kill bacteria just slows them right down - so preserving them, You don't want to warm the food and bacteria up, let them multiply, then freeze/preserve the increased bug collection.

Impressed by how organised you are!

Yeah - go for it! HBs are fun! Hoping for 4th in May! How far on are you? Did you have a bad time last itm eto go for the elcs?

Tinkerisdead · 10/11/2011 17:01

I'm due at start of feb. Loads of reasons decided to go for elcs. Last time was three day, back to back, brow presentation, fetal distress. I'm not ashamed to say its scared me witless to even try, feel like i've done my share of shitty labour lol. Dd had bad coluc last time and i felt like i never got back on my feet from labour to cope with her properly. Said to consultant that i know how horrible cs is, recovery is terrible but its still more bareable than the sheer terror i had in labour. I'm near a lovely birth centre so i can transfer in there for post natal recovery. The only tiny thkng that sways me is being away from dd during recovery. So you're on no4?! And im worried about 2!!!
