Non-stick tin my arse...

I hope someone has a magic solution...

Madeira cake
Non-stick loaf tin
Stuck cake

Is there any way of getting it out without mangling the cake?

They're never non stick Grin

go round the side with a sharp knife and hope not too much of the bottom gets left behind when you hold it upside down and tap it out.

I have tried that - its not budging!

What a rookie mistake. I have been baking since before I went to primary school (same recipe funnily enough).

Have you tried holding the sides of the pan with it upside down and doing that thing where you move it really fast downwards and then stop suddenly and hope the cake continues moving?

If so I'd take a fish-slice to it and tastefully decorate the inevitable damage Grin

I have tried shaking it up and down and side to side. And yelling/pleadinf with it.

May have to attack it with the fish slice and hide it under some custard!

I had to cut a slide out of the middle, eat it, then scoop out the other 2 sided with a fish slide, taste another slide then shove them together.

It was goooooood!

That's what I would have done too, wahwah. I like your style Grin.

I have just cut a slide to take to DS as an after school snack, I had to test the other side now, as I had to make sure it was ok too. It was.

May need to bake again tomorrow!
