Need help please - Defrosted Rib-eye Steaks

I defrosted a pack of 2 steaks on friday but didn't get round to cooking them and then forgot they were there over weekend [hblush]

I rarely cook beef so am a bit [hconfused] as to what to do with them - they have been in fridge all the time so will they be ok to cook today?
And can I chop them up to make a stew rather than frying? Need something that will cook in oven and keep warm as will be out trick or treating with kids after school.

If you put them straight into the fridge from the freezer then they won't have fully defrosted for a fair while, say by Saturday, so they should be alright.

What do they smell like? If they smell OK then you should be alright.

If you use steak in a stew, don't overcook it - the meat doesn't need long, slow cooking as this tends to dry it out.

i would not do a stew, the meat will be too dry. I would fry them now and serve them cold with salads and pittas/wraps/baked spuds

Oh yes - good idea, witch! You could make a yummy Thai-type salad with them.

Thanks!
Just thought - could I slice into thin strips and stirfry - that would get round the long cooking and still be hot?

Kids have packed lunch so I prefer to give them something hot in evenings, especially after being out.
