I want a butter dish! Find me one, since it's your fault and all...

I know the butter dish discussion was ages ago, but I have decided that I need one.

I want one where the butter sits on a flat thing and the domed top goes over it. Not one that is shaped like an actual dish with a flat lid.

Can you find me one please? Preferably one that I can buy without leaving my sofa.

Maybe you'd like this one

If you have their stoneware they do colours to match or if you just wanted something more solid looking here

Quite classic and a little less ultra modern than some metal ones here

A Bodum one that comes in white, black and other colours here

MonstrouslyNarkyPuffin · 28/10/2011 10:39

No idea but they're definitely not cows Grin

Trills · 28/10/2011 10:39

Am I supposed to know the name Bodum?

If you're getting butter from a bull I'll stick to jam thanks.

MonstrouslyNarkyPuffin · 28/10/2011 10:41

No, I just thought someone else might have linked to the same one in black in the first few posts.

MonstrouslyNarkyPuffin · 28/10/2011 10:43

They're the cafetiere people.

Glass

Trills · 28/10/2011 10:43

Just because someone else used the name like I should have heard of them.

Actually the bodum ones (yours and the first one) are the ones I like best :)

The ship. But it is upside down.

My joint favourite with the Le Creuset stoneware one here

This one isn't right way up or upside down.

MonstrouslyNarkyPuffin · 28/10/2011 10:56

x posts.

They're both very nice.

Trills · 28/10/2011 11:12

I like the WMF one, all moderny.

Just ordered the Bodum one that naturalbaby found - I do think it's the nicest (actually the Guzzini ones are very nice too).

I have the le crueset one, and bought mine in TK Maxx for less than a tenner.

Trills · 28/10/2011 13:29

TK Maxx (and the home ones) ar very good for that kind of thing as long as you don't want a specific thing.

Mine's a 'Lock n Lock' butter dish. Lid snaps over the top.

HandMini · 28/10/2011 15:37

Don't, for the love of God, get an Emma Bridgewater one...pretty yes, practical no. The lid is too big and the knob of the lid is too small and it's a "right way up" one - ie square dish with flat lid. You've got to go "upside down" - flat dish with square lift off lid - it's the only way.
