baked beans - home made?

having tasted home made beans a couple of times I wonder how easy they are to do?
my aunt does them with a bbq style sauce but she will not give the recipe
what kind of beans to I need and how to get the sticky sauce?

Beans are haricot. I use bacon instead of pork belly. Most recipes are fairly similar.

I'd also recommend the Delia 'Boston Baked Beans'. The black treacle gives it that stickiness.
