Couple of days max.

Finbar · 23/12/2005 12:54

I wouldn't leave it more than 2 days...smell it, if it smells of nothing much you are fine...anything stronger adn I'd have doubts.

agree with moondog - -had a very nasty experience once with a salmon intended for our boxing day guests - -had turkey and ham pie instead

moondog · 23/12/2005 12:56

Sounds grim Iota....

hativity · 23/12/2005 12:57

thanks everyone - problem is don't know if it's for Christmas day evening (we have our turkey on Christmas eve) or Boxing Day. I should freeze it shouldn't i? Just a bugger cos I am Mrs Crap when it comes to remembering to take things out and I hate defrosting stuff in the microwave

yes freeze it

I hate to leave fish from the supermarket for more than a day tbh

fresh caught I would only leave for 2 days

IOTAnnenbaum · 23/12/2005 13:19

what's grim moondog ? turkey and ham pie on boxing day?

moondog · 23/12/2005 13:23

No
Am referring to salmon debacle.
Images of you wrestling with a huge rotting fish,a paper hat balancing drunkenly on your head, surrounded by discarded wrapping paper and empty bottles....

IOTAnnenbaum · 23/12/2005 13:26

ha ha salmon wrangling was left to dh as hes's the resident fish expert

fresh salmon no longer forms part of our Xmas menu - although the odd bit of smoked does find its way in
