for some mad reason have bought fresh cranberries to make sauce with rather than buying ready made. don't know how to make it though!

Are you having turkey or goose ??

easy peasy --
1 punnet cranberries
juice of 1 or 2 oranges
125g (or less or more, start with less) sugar

Put sugar and oj together in pot on stovetop and heat to dissolve sugar. Add cranberries and cook until skins pop and they start to get a little mushy (but still some whole ones left - the ratio of sauce to cranberries is totally up to you) then take off heat and there you go! To gel the sauce (we always have it cold), just let cool to room temp and then stick in the fridge.
