Apple Guard?

My dd wants to take fruit to school each day for snack time. Does anyone know what I can pop an apple in. Either the containers are too big or just too small. Is there such a thing as an apple guard like the banana guard?

Apples already come in a skin, why do you need to put them in anything else?

Honeylamb - thanks for that.
4merlyknownasSHD - my dd school states that it has to be in a lunch box!

With 2 careless boys apples are flung about that much that they are bruised by the time they eat them. Also all kids put their snacks in a tray together in the classroom in the morning, this stops the "that was my apple" argument that does happen from time to time, it also means they eat an apple I know has been washed!
