slow cooker prep question

Hi bit of a novice slow cooker - a lot of the recipes require a small amount of preparation first eg browning meat or veg first rather than just dumping everything into the cooker....my question is how to people who work deal with this. We are always in a rush in the morning and I don't really want to start chopping and cooking first thing as I leave early...any thoughts, would it work doing it the night before then popping in fridge then putting in cooker in the morning or will that just make everything go yuk?

some people do all the prep the night before and leave in fridge. i don't bother browning things, just sausages maybe (and you could def do that the night before). If you use mince you need to smash it up a bit, if you don't brown it, so its not all in 1 lump. basically i just throw it in as i eat breakfast.

I don't bother browning first I just bung it all in in the morning and set the timer to come on at lunchtime for 5 hours. Then come home to the smell of lovely stew - mmmm.
