How do you know when the Cake has had enough to drink?

I was contemplating this the other night, while giving the Xmas Cake its last feed before marzipaning it. Didn't come to any conclusion, but 'accidentaly' spilt Drambuie onto the offcuts, and decided that you can't over-feed it .

OTOH I once tried feeding a different sort of fruit cake, and gave it so much to drink that when we cut it we discovered that the marzipan had dissolved!

PMSL overdraft!

I have no idea either though, maybe it's when you have the first slice and you're too drunk to drive home?

i was wondering this myself this morning as I chucked another slug in.
but like you, i figured you can't over-feed it!

I wanna know how you get a christmas cake to latch on ?

followthestarlover · 19/12/2005 21:51

yeah give it a good glug before you ice it! lol

PrettyCandlesAndTinselToo · 20/12/2005 13:06

Ah, well you see with Xmas cakes the latch works differently: you latch on to it.

Moodnog, we have an agreement - I make a cake, he makes latkes. Works well, as I can bake but not fry, and he can fry but not bake.
