cupcakes - shall I freeze them or not?

I have made 50 cupcakes for DS christening on Sunday. They will be iced tomorrow afternoon.

Will they keep better in the freezer for 24 hours, or an airtight container?

I would freeze them TBH. It seems like a faff but then you can take them out to decorate them and then leave them in an airtight container to defrost.

But I don't think it would be a disaster to keep them in an airtight container either :)

As I was writing it I realised I was fussing! But I didn't want to go to the trouble of making them and then serve stale cakes to our guests. Or ones that had been ruined in the freezer....

Just needed someone to tell me what to do, thanks!

Cakes won't be stale after 2 nights in an airtight container so don't worry too much.
