Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian, French, Morrocan, Spanish etc etc

Are there any hidden gems out there that are overlooked? Which country has a cuisine worth trying that is not widely known about?

Nonono, I was a bit Hmm at Nepali cuisine - even my Nepali friends say it's mainly dahl bhat, and our local Nepali restaurant serves mainly Indian food! Oh, and momos, which I believe are Tibetan!

Agree that Persian cuisine is yum, and Turkish, Indonesian/Malay. I love south Indian food, and am also very partial to good Japanese cuisine. Some Nigerian food is delicious, and one of the best cooks I've ever known is from Guyana. :)

No one has mentioned it yet, but Ethiopian food is great, tasty, fun to eat and usually very cheap. Spicy meat steews, served on a table cloth of injeera bread.

Definitely Turkish! I am amazed that it is mainly known for the kebabs but Turkish cuisine is much more than kebabs, and I mean MUCH more!

Oh i agree mavideniz. I'm so lucky, my next door neighbour is Turkish and she always gives us nice foods and deserts. I'm going to ask her for the recipes.

What is about Polish and East European food? I thought it is dull (apologies). What should i try then?
