If you could have anything you liked for dinner tonight what would it be?

I'm imagining comforting in-front-of-Doctor-Who dinner, not candles-and-wine dinner (although there may be some wine anyway :))

I have ordered Chinese. I thought you'd like to know. I love www.just-eat.co.uk, I can order food without having to talk to anyone.

Smoked salmon! I love smoked salmon but don't ever spend the money on it, followed by beef wellington then tiramisu washed down with white grenache!

You can get quite cheap smoked salmon if you are happy to have the trimmings rather than proper big slices.

(I think it's exactly the same stuff, just the bits that were left when it's cut from fish-shaped to slice-shaped)

sjuperwolef - boiled and roast potatoes? True dedication :)

schroeder, is that all? That makes me (unreasonably) want to feed you!

I haven't had dinner yet because I couldn't decide what to eat. I am not hungry yet. I am enjoying a big glass of Chateauneuf and pondering my options. I think in order to enjoy my wine all the better, I should have a very stinky runny cheese, like an Epoisses de Bourgogne, and some jambon de Bayonne, and some nice tomatoes, and maybe a really really strong goats cheese too. One that makes your tongue tingle.

I don't have a telly and have never seen Dr Who but if I did and I wanted to really curl up and watch something I'd have an Indian takeaway, definitely. I LOVE the smell when I first open the bag... ohhhh I think I want that now...

What I actually have is smoked salmon and cream pasta (too heavy, it was for DD), parma ham (not what I want), loads of fresh veg from latest box (too virtuous) and homemade treacle tart (sick of it, had it for last 3 days).

Damn you all :)

Trillian, the trimmings are awful. They seem to come from the real scrag ends (do salmon have scrag ends?) - I used to buy those for pasta dishes but the salmon bits were all chewy and horrid.

I tried Aldi smoked salmon - £2.89 for 200g so bargain, but it had a weird taste, salty and very very fatty. I'm a big Aldi fan but this was no good :(

I don't think it's something you can go cheap on.

TrillianAstra · 17/09/2011 20:28

Ah, I'm not a salmon connoisseur, sorry.

Korma, garlic naan, beer. Popcorn.

schroeder · 17/09/2011 20:31

Don't worry I don't need feeding, am way too fat.

I'm really short and would be better off eating a lot less than I do, living with a greedy six footer for the last 16 years has done my figure no good what so ever; I find it so hard not to try to keep up with him Hmm.

TrillianAstra · 17/09/2011 20:51

Right, that's an hour, where is it?

We had fajitas and nachos while watch Dr Who. About to have home-made victoria sponge for pud. Can't complain. :)

BodyUnknown · 17/09/2011 22:41

I'm still here at 22:40 having not eaten anything other than a rollmop as I couldn't make my mind up! So much for my fantasy dinner!

Tinkerisdead · 18/09/2011 11:51

Hmmmm it was really nice that phish food. Im pregnant so no use worrying about diets here yet.

sjuperwolef · 18/09/2011 18:08
