Before anyone asks me not to eat it all at once or assumes I'm on the latest insectivore diet, it's an Indian pulse, similar to a mung bean only smaller and brown, and pronounced "moat". I've got a packet because I sent my husband out to buy brown lentils. The French translation did say "lentilles brunes", so it's an understandable mistake. If anyone knows a good recipe I'd be very interested and most grateful.
