Using "poach pods" in microwave

Now I know perfectly well how to poach an egg but when making just one for my breakfast, could I do it in the microwave with a poach pod to save on washing up a saucepan? Do I just microwave the pod or do I sit it in a tub of water? I have read about piercing the yolk too is that right?

You get little egg shaped things in cheapy shops with lids on, otherwise I think you may decorate the inside of you microwave, perhaps piercing yolk stops this though, either way I don't think ou should put it in water as the microwave will heat the water directly anyway.

I meant heat the egg anyway.
