I don't know, I've never boiled ham before tbh.

I always roast mine with lashings of honey.

boil it in coke like nigella does -- divine... gives it a slight BBQ taste.. you can then roast it in oven after to get a crunchy coating

Nigella's Ham in Coke is fab, the leftovers taste really nice too, like a deli ham. Yum.

Thumbs up from here for the coke, and serve it with sliced Peaches in their own juice...mmmmmmm!

I always caluculate the cooking time for the size of meat, then boil for 2/3 cooking time with cloves, pepper corns, carrot, celery and bay leaf.

The I take it out remove the rind and make a marinade from 2 tablespoons orange marmelade, 100 mls Rocks organic orange squash (I'm sure any other one would do) and 4 tablespoons soft brown sugar.

Score the fat diagonally in both directions, and then spread the marinade over all surfaces of the meat, putting extra over the fatty side.

Take the cut off rind and cut into smaller pieces and toss in any remaining marinade.

Roast ham for the remaining 1/3 time, with the crackling on the side.

It really is yummy

I've just ordered some ham for Christmas and realised I don't know how to cook it - can anyone post a link to the Delia recipes mentioned here? thanks
