cake tins urgent question

hello

i want to make a sandwich cake. i have three old but usable loose bottom tins one of which is springform, which i use for pies. will these be ok to use or should i buy new ones which are not loose bottomed?

please someone reply soon as dh is heading out to the shops soon!

Loose bottomed is absolutely fine. Might want to get dh to get some greaseproof just to line the bottom.

If you're worried about seepage you could line them with greaseproof paper.

brilliant thank you! got some greaseproof in the cupboard :) would you put the greaseproof in the whole tin (including sides)? kind of like how you might do with a brownie? or just the bottom? thanks"

If it's a sponge I would just line the bottom and make sure the sides are well greased, if it's a heavier cake such as a fruit cake then I would line the sides as well.
