How far in advance can I make fairy cakes?

It's ds's 3rd birthday party on Saturday and I'm going to make his big chocolate birthday cake tomorrow night. I'm also making some fairy cakes and wondered if I made them this afternoon (I'm on NY time) and kept them in a sealed container, would they still be ok to eat on Saturday? I'd finish them off with the icing on Saturday morning. Any thoughts from any fairy cake experts?? Thank you.

I would pop them in the freezer then get them out tomorrow night to make sure they kept fresh. Although they would probably be ok in a sealed container. :)
