Has anyone tried this with 15g of butter and (another time) 150g of butter? Which is best? The recipe says 15g of butter but I'm not sure I trust it!

I have made it but it wasn't overly impressive, a bit dry and crispy I thought. I don't remember which quantities of butter I used though, it was the recipe in Feast that I followed.

I have made it with 150g of butter, was yummy. Although I love malty things so may be biased. Iy was very moist though.

I made it using 15g butter. It was lovely, very moist. One of the nicest chocolate cake recipes I've tried.

I have fond memories of the malteser cake as my mum baked one for DH and me when my DD was born.

Hmm, so one positive vote for 150g butter, and one each positive and negative for 15g!

I made it with 15g butter. I was abit dubious but it worked fine! Did feel it was a bit dry the first time but concluded I'd overcooked it. Made it the second time and cooked for slightly less and it was lovely.Hth.

Oops, just checked the recipe I used and I did use 15g of butter. Quite tempted to make another one actually.

I've made it several times with 15g butter. Always a success.

Thanks all. I made it with 150g and it was fine, if a little dry Hmm (though you could hardly tell with all of the icing). Strange that the quantity of butter seems to make so little difference. Maybe next time I'll try 15g :).
