3 year old won't feed herself

My dd is 3 and since my ds of now 9 months was weaned she's been really difficult with her meals. I guess as she sees me feeding him she wants me to feed her. I've tried giving in to it and feeding her, but typically they eat at the same time so its near impossible to do both of them at the same time, and she is more than capable of feeding herself now. When my ds is being difficult as well and needs distracting to eat its a nightmare and I can't walk away from it as he's a big boy and will wake up at night if he doesn't eat him meals (has happened before).

I've also tried taking her dinner away and that she's to go to bed without any dinner, and she just gets down and goes off in a sulk. It doesn't seem to have any effect. She has always been a very difficult eater so am used to it really I suppose.

My ds cries a lot and needs a lot of attention from me, very clingy at the moment too, so its not like I can leave him and feed her separately incase its jealousy.

Anyone got any ideas as its driving me crazy cajoling her into eating at every meal, and trying to bribe her. Also my temper just flares every night as I don't seem to have much patience these days!

We're seeing this from DS who's also 3 (DD is just 1). I used to get very annoyed, but lately I've just been taking his meals away if they're not eaten. He usually eats with us, and when we're done the table gets cleared away. He never looks fussed either but I have noticed he eats a good breakfast the following day!

I think i'd keep saying how she was a big girl now, and has to show by example for her baby brother, maybe even sticker charts until she realises...

Either that, or puree all her food, sit her down in the high chair..... My DS would probably enjoy that!

Have you tried giving your youngest finger food at mealtimes? That way your oldest will hopefully copy & feed himself again!
