Just had to come and sound out a whoop of triumph on here - ds1 has just declared that he quite likes leeks!!!!! A minor miracle!

Gawd, I hadn't realised just how fussy he's been with food over the last year or so (I've been ignoring him anyway and dishing up what we all eat as a family). I feel like I should be dancing a victory dance or something

He's 5 in May.

He probably is. DS is better now (but made a real fuss about the lentil and spinach thing I served up tonight) but we have had some setbacks along the way so be warned!

I'd just settle for him not sitting down to the meal every night with a pained "but mummy, you know I don't like this..." or "yuck" or "I hate [X]".

Oh yes we went through months of "i don't like it" before he even got into the room and saw what it was. Actually what worked for us was him having a run of illnesses culminating in tonsilitis and us watching him getting visibly thinner. For the last month he has been eating much better and filled back out.

Only thing is that now DD has decided to cause strife at mealtimes.....

Great - so I'll get one kid "fixed" then the other goes into food refusal? Joy .

Hmm thinks that's the probability....
