Easy lunch times

Can any experienced mums out there help please? My DD is 15 months old & weaned quite easily onto solid food. She can managed lumpy stuff really well & seems to like most things I cook for her. I'd like to give her a simpler lunch, the majority of which she can feed herself. I can't keep up with the demand of making food for two hot meals a day.

I've tried toast, lumps of cheese, pieces of veggie sausage etc and it went well at first, but now she refuses everything except fruit!

Any suggestions as to what I can do? Is it too early to try this sort of thing? She has a good breakfast & evening meal.

Mine always did better at this age with a bigger hot lunch, when less tired, and a lighter tea.
Or try the meals earlier than you're doing now?

She is usually more tired at lunchtime as she has her evening meal not long after waking from a 1.5 - 2 hr afternoon nap. Interesting suggestion about changing timings.
